Who We Are and Why We Exist

At TAHS, we were founded on a simple but powerful belief: traditional public school is not the right fit for every student, and those students deserve better than a GED. Under the leadership of Dr. Shawn W. Clark, Director, our school legally operates as a private home school under Texas state law. We use Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) as our core curriculum, a mastery-based, diagnostically individualized program that has helped thousands of students across the country earn meaningful credentials built on strong academic and Biblical foundations.

Fort Worth is home to a diverse and growing population. From the historic Stockyards District to the cultural corridors of the Near Southside, this city is full of people with big goals and real-life responsibilities. We understand that many Fort Worth residents are balancing jobs, families, and the desire to finish what they started academically. That is exactly why our programs are built to be flexible, self-paced, and accessible both in-person and virtually.

Our diplomas are not GEDs. They are Texas state law compliant high school diplomas with official transcripts, and they carry the same weight as a public high school diploma under Texas Education Code. Our graduates have used their diplomas to enroll in Tarrant County College, apply for FAFSA, enlist in the military, and pursue career opportunities that previously felt out of reach.

FAQs

Yes. Our diploma is Texas state law compliant and is considered equivalent to a public high school diploma under Texas state law. Graduates have the right to enroll in higher education, apply for FAFSA, and enlist in any military branch. While TAHS is not accredited by TEA or TEPSAC, it is recognized by the state of Texas as a nontraditional, nonprofit, private, secondary education home school and files with the federal government as a 501(c)(3).

No. None of our programs require the STAAR exam. Our students complete alternative assessments that fulfill diploma requirements under Texas state law. This is one of the most important distinctions between TAHS and other educational options. If the STAAR has been the only thing standing between you and your diploma, our STAAR Redemption program was made specifically for you.

Many students are able to graduate in as little as 60 days, particularly through our STAAR Redemption program. The timeline for our Adult and Youth programs depends on the number of credits you still need and the pace at which you work through the curriculum. Because our programs are self-paced, motivated students often move quickly. Our team will give you a realistic estimate during your enrollment consultation.

Absolutely. There is no age limit at TAHS. Our Adult Program is specifically designed for individuals 18 and older who need a flexible, affordable path to their diploma. We have had students enroll in their 30s, 40s, and beyond. Life does not stop while you finish your education, and our program is designed with that reality in mind.

Yes. Our ESL Adult Education program is available both in-person and virtually, making it accessible to Spanish-speaking adults throughout the Fort Worth area. You will receive the same Texas state law compliant high school diploma as all other TAHS graduates. The exam is available in Spanish, and bilingual support is provided throughout your program to ensure you have every tool you need to succeed.
