Texas Alternative Home School is a nontraditional, nonprofit private secondary education home school that is fully recognized by the State of Texas. Our graduates hold the same rights as public high school graduates and GED holders, including the right to apply for FAFSA, enroll in college, and enlist in any branch of the military.

Texas State Law Compliant: What That Means for You
We want Arlington students and families to understand exactly what our diploma means and what it does not mean. Texas Alternative Home School is not accredited by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) or TEPSAC. However, we are fully compliant with Texas state law. We are recognized by the State of Texas as a nontraditional, nonprofit private secondary education home school, and we are registered with the federal government as a 501(c)(3) organization.
Under Texas state law, our graduates are considered equivalent to public high school graduates and GED holders. This means our diploma holders have the right to:
- Apply for FAFSA and pursue federal financial aid
- Enroll in college and universities, including local institutions like UT Arlington
- Enlist in any branch of the United States military
- Use their diploma for employment applications
- Participate in an official graduation ceremony held in June and December

How It Works: From Enrollment to Graduation
Getting started with Texas Alternative Home School is straightforward. Graduation ceremonies are held in June and December, giving our graduates a real, memorable moment to celebrate their achievement. Here is how the process works.

Every program is available in-person at any of our 10 Texas locations or virtually from anywhere in the state.
Step 3
Enroll and Complete Your Assessment
Choose a payment plan with no interest and no fees, complete your enrollment, and schedule your assessment. Our team guides you through every step.
Step 4
Receive Your Diploma
After passing your assessment, your Texas state law-compliant high school diploma and official transcripts are mailed to you within 6 to 8 weeks.
Our Curriculum: Accelerated Christian Education (ACE)
At TAHS, we use Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) as our core curriculum, alongside Money Smart for Small Business (MSSB). ACE is a back-to-basics, mastery-based curriculum built on high Biblical academic standards. It is diagnostically individualized, meaning each student starts where they are and progresses at their own pace.
